• Last July, Westpak’s solar team exhibited at the Intersolar expo in San Francisco for the first time. The event, held at the Moscone Center, is one of the top solar industry exhibitions and conferences in North America.  Hundreds of companies exhibited and over 20,000 people attended the show during the three-day event.
  
  Herb Schueneman, Westpak’s President and CEO spoke at the conference. Herb’s topic entitled “Vibration - The Missing Link” introduced hundreds of conference attendees to Westpak’s 25 years of vibration testing experience for the first time. Several industry-leading companies have successfully utilized Westpak’s vibration testing equipment and experience to improve the reliability and robustness of their solar products.
  
  At the expo, a few thousand conference attendees strolled by Westpak’s booth, and a few hundred of those stopped to talk with Westpak’s solar team. The Westpak crew enjoyed a great deal of interest from existing clients, new contacts, and industry colleagues.

  Westpak offers accredited test services to the solar industry. While testing solar products during the past five years, Westpak has specialized in R&D, reliability, and pre-certification testing per IEC 61215, IEC 61646, IEC 61208, IEC 61730-2, UL 1703 and other photovoltaic testing standards.

• NEW PROCEDURAL ENHANCEMENTS FOR WESTPAK!

• In our continuous endeavors for improvement, please be advised that Westpak has just upgraded our phone system to allow our customers many more options in dealing with Westpak.  You can direct dial an employee/engineer, your calls may be answered by our laboratory personnel by means of their laptops and many more options in order to make doing business with us even more user friendly.

• In the same vein, we are happy to announce that we have listened to our clients and now accept the American Express card as another credit card option for payments.

• Westpak, Inc. has been accredited by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for its custom designed and built air-powered gun which fires 25mm (1”) diameter ice balls at test targets. The tool, affectionately named “Mr. Freeze”, meets the hail impact testing requirements prescribed by IEC 61215, IEC 61646, and IEC 62108 for PV module certification.

  Last year, Westpak contracted the Industrial Technology Department at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to design and build the custom device and associated ice ball mold. The development of the tool was done as a part of a senior project; a great example of a joint student-industry project. The tool has been successfully utilized by the solar, glass, and roofing industries for research and development and pre-certification testing at Westpak’s solar test lab.
