Peel Test
Peel/Tensile Testing is the process used to measure seal strength to pull apart two bonded surfaces. Testing is done for a number of reasons, including material selection, sealer and sterilization validation as well as shelf life validation. It is often used in the medical device industry to measure and quantify the strength of seals on medical pouched products as well as other sealed flexible packages.

When properly applied in a package validation test plan (within guidelines of ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11607) the peel test measures the peak force required to separate a pouch seal.
