Going green isn't just about recycling paper or not using bottled water. We go further by looking for ways to decrease our impact on the environment.  We evaluate our business practices and try to find ways to either reduce our consumption of resources or participate in recycling programs. 

However, the greatest area of impact on the environment we enjoy as a test facility is the opportunity to help our clients reduce the amount of packaging used to ship a product.  We focus on the package system which is the relationship between the product and the package.  The information we gather from testing at the product level can be used to design a more rugged product.  With a more rugged product less material will be required to package the product and also results in optimized package system.  While material reduction may seem to be the end, the impact of this process translates throughout the entire distribution supply chain.  Contact us if you would like more information on this process and we look forward to helping you met your sustainability goals.

 

Here are a few ways we are stewards of the environment as well as encourage the people we meet to follow our footsteps.

• Our Brochures are printed on 100%  recycled content with 50% being from post consumer sources.
• We have replaced all of our less efficient T12 Fluorescent lighting with higher efficiency T8 fluorescent lights.
• We have insulated the ceiling of the building
• We use timers to limit the duration cooling fans run on the electro-dynamic vibration tables after the completion of testing
• The heating and cooling systems are on timers to turn the systems off at night and during the weekend.
• As an environmentally conscious company, we have maintained a recycling program since our inception.  We continually look for ways to encourage our clients to do the same.
• We help our clients optimizing the package system and use our knowledge of packaging materials to support the decision making process.
• We use electric and propane vehicles to move pallets within each facility.
• We have moved away from single use PET bottled water and installed a UV filtering system.  We also supply our clients with a complimentary water bottle with the idea to help reduce the consumption of PET water bottles going to the landfill and to encourage reuse.
• We support local efforts to recycle computers, TV and other electronic waste.
