Testing Spotlight
Dye Penetration testing is used to find channel leaks through the seals formed by a transparent film and porous material. This qualitative test will find channel leaks through a seal as small as 50 microns. To conduct Dye Penetration testing, a dye and surfactant solution are injected into the medical device packaging. Each seal is exposed to the dye penetrant for 5-20 seconds. During this time, the trained operator will inspect the seals for dye fluid coming through the seals. The release of dye through a channel leak would constitute a failure of the package integrity, and according to ISO 11607, a breach of sterile integrity.
Westpak goes green
Westpak Cares for the future
Going green isn't just about recycling paper or not using bottled water. We go further by looking for ways to decrease our impact on the environment. We evaluate our business practices and try to find ways to either reduce our consumption of resources or participate in recycling programs.
However, the greatest area of impact on the environment we enjoy as a test facility is the opportunity to help our clients reduce the amount of packaging used to ship a product.-more
