Amazon Package Certification Testing

WESTPAK has been approved by Amazon to test and certify products as Amazon Prep-Free Packaging (PFP), Ships-In-Own-Container (SIOC), and Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP). Listed on Amazon’s Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS), WESTPAK provides package testing services to vendors, sellers, and manufacturers who must certify their products’ packaging as PFP, SIOC, or FFP.

The certification requires that products be evaluated to meet all requirements for the corresponding standards listed in Amazon’s Packaging Certification Guidelines, pass the ISTA 6 SIOC test (FFP/SIOC), or the ISTA 6 Overbox (PFP) test using ISTA certified testing equipment. Both of WESTPAK’s test labs are ISTA Certified Testing Laboratories.

The rapid, worldwide acceptance of e-Commerce has been partially enabled through properly designed and tested products and packaging thereby ensuring the customer’s order arrives at its ultimate destination working and undamaged. Be assured none of this happened by chance. Packaging engineers at Amazon and the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) created the ISTA 6-Amazon protocols which define the simulation tests required by Amazon’s e-Commerce fulfillment program.
