Thermo Fisher Scientific Leverages WESTPAK Expertise for Low-Pressure Testing

Thermo Fisher Scientific recently selected WESTPAK, Inc.’s accredited testing laboratory in San Diego, California, to conduct simulated low-pressure (altitude) tests according to ASTM D6653-13 (2021) on microplates sealed with their Automated Plate Heat Sealer, identified as ALPS5000.

  • The testing comprised 2,280 microplates shipped to WESTPAK in batches of 120 per day from different lots from 17 different injection molds prepared with the heat sealer.
  • WESTPAK simulated high-altitude shipping conditions using “The Vault” altitude chamber.
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific featured photos and comments of the testing performed at WESTPAK in the ALPS5000 product literature (ref. page 2).
